Liquid Thoughts

Liquid Thoughts is a series of drawings by Barbara Pietrasanta made with felt-tip pen on Nepalese paper, rice paper and papyrus. The graphic mark as immediate thought: fluid, uncorrected, authentic. Works that explore visual writing as a form of self-representation and inner reflection, balanced between drawing and painting, between word and image.

I enter a bazaar in Khan el-Khalili and let myself be carried away by shelves full of paper and leather. Outside, voices from the living city. Inside, a timeless tranquility. My black diary was there, he had decided to wait for me … perhaps with all my thoughts already written inside.
