Frescoes — Via Crucis
The fourteen panels of the Via Crucis were created by Barbara Pietrasanta for the Chiesa della Sacra Famiglia in Cinisello Balsamo, Milan, using the ancient technique of fresco on the church colonnade. The work was commissioned by Don Armando Cattaneo, current Bishop of Monza e Brianza. The execution took approximately fourteen months and the Via Crucis was officially inaugurated on 29 June 2001. A copy of the frescoes is held at the Iglesia Jesús Divino Maestro in Lima, Peru. The cycle has been documented by Rai Tre, Famiglia Cristiana, Jesus, Il Corriere della Sera and Radio Popolare, among others.
